When my youth group arrived at the retreat center, we were curious to see how many other people were there (we have all been used to being the only ones... think of it as someone who thinks they are the last living beings on earth and then discover a dog. We were quite enthused.) At first, everyone was shy and unsure... each of us sticking to our own group... but then we began our games and (after a clumsy introduction from me... :-D) gradually became comfortable and got to know one another. The evening became a late one (we had all arrived fashionably late... around 2-3 hours after and consequently it was around 12:30am before most of us were in bed. Shabbas arrived, and we all met down stairs for wonderful food and worship. Saturday and Sunday were lovely days filled with fun, games, scripture and fellowship. Our van left with the common sentiment that had the retreat lasted for but a few more days then we would be wholly ready to return home. As it was, most of us were ready for our own beds and we all left looking forward to next year (already making plans!)
