Check Out what former Regional Rep, Erin McGill wrote about the 2008 Midwest Youth-Only Retreat:

When thinking back to the YMJA's recent Midwest Youth-Only retreat, a lot of things quickly come to mind. Things like, riding in the mustang, watching Transformers late into the night, and trying not to fall into the lake, to name a few. But the things that are still on my heart came from the small group time and the awesome talks given my Rabbi Matt Rosenberg. The theme of the retreat was In His Presence. Rabbi Matt gave four different talks throughout the weekend. On Saturday night, Rabbi Matt gave a talk titled, Freedom. He spoke about the freedom God longs for us to live in. He reminded us that God never speaks through condemnation and that we need to stop letting our own shame keep us from being completely free in and through Yeshua. At the end of the talk, Rabbi Matt had each of us walk through a door frame whose sides and top had been painted with red paint. After walking through, we all took communion and the leaders were there to pray for us. By walking through the door frame, we physically were reminded of the price Yeshua has already paid to give us a freedom that we can't even comprehend fully. It's a freedom that is, well, free! After talking and praying with the students and leaders, I think we all felt a little lighter. We were reminded in a fresh way that the burdens we deal with day to day are not ours to carry on our own. In Matthew 11:28-30 Yeshua says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." This verse was a theme for us that weekend and continues to encourage me now. God's presence is not only the GREATEST THING EVER it's a lifeline for those of us who are no longer satisfied with what our own hands can do. Cry out for the freedom that comes from being in His presence. He would love to meet you there.

Midwest Regional Conference:

Date: October 24-26, 2008!

Location: Marriott Northeast Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio

Look what YMJA Secretary, Mara Frisch wrote about last year's program:

The Midwest Regional was a true blessing this year. The theme of “Freedom in Yeshua” was carried out throughout the weekend, through teachings such as “Free to Worship”, “Free from Sin”, “Free to Hear”, and “Free to Follow” and through utilizing the worship song, “Free to Worship” during Jam time. On a larger scale, however, the L-rd really met each teen and, in my opinion, took them to a more serious level of understanding on what it means to be “Free in Yeshua.” Highlights from the weekend include: Teen Talk discussion time on Saturday night, which was scheduled to last twenty-thirty minutes and ended up lasting two hours, watching the teens truly bond and work together through Teambuilding 101 and Teambuilding 201, and hearing how the L-rd touched each teen during the testimonies at the conclusion of the weekend. One young man explained, “This conference was a lot more serious for me. It’s the first time I experienced emotions with G-d, instead of just having fun.”
